Tv production roles

Director- Tells everyone where they should be and what they should be doing.

Vision Mixer- Controls what is on the screen. For example, cameras, pictures, pre recorded videos etc.

Teleprompter- Controls scrolling text that talent reads out loud.

Camera operator- controls camera

Floor manager- Passes on directors orders to people in the filming area.

Talent/Presenter- Acts and reads script.

Sound mixer- Controls all sound levels.

Sound effects operator- plays sound effects and music when the director tells them to.

First impressions of multi camera

Today was my first experience with multi camera. I got a feel of presenting on set and of being in the room where the set is directed from. I learnt certain aspects of controlling sound in the studio and visual display in the studio. We learnt how to do fading, how to change between cameras, etc. overall, it was a basic understanding of the studio and how it works and how communication between the studio and the viewing room.
